Prof. Dr. Sven Seiwerth

School of Medicine University of Zagreb, Croatia. Specialist in Pathology, Full professor at the Institute of Pathology, University of Zagreb Medical School Zagreb. Since 2006 Dr. Seiwerth was Head of Department of Pathology and Institute of Pathology University of Zagreb School of Medicine. Since 2009 he is vice-dean for student affairs (now third term). His  scientific interest are tumour pathology, lung pathology, bone pathology, telepathology, quantitative pathology, experimental pathology, teaching pathology. Dr. Seiwerth is Vice president of the Croatian association of telemedicine; Board member of the Committee for telemedicine of the Croatian Academy of Medicine; Founding member of the International Academy of Telepathology; Member of the Committee for telepathology of the ESP. He has published 149 full papers in peer reviewed journals cited in Pub Med among them more than 120 in CC indexed journals, more than 200 in WoS.


Prof. Dr. med. vet. Franco Guscetti

Institute of Veterinary Pathology, Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Zurich, Switzerland. Dr. Guscetti got his degrees from, and works at the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Zurich. Following a two-year postdoctoral training at the Departement of Radiation Oncology of the Stanford University (Palo Alto, California) he has since 2003 been appointed as Head of the oncology group at the Institute of Veterinary Pathology. His areas of interest include research on biology of cancer in dogs and cats, with focus on apoptosis and functions of apoptosis-related genes. He has over 75 peer-reviewed papers in indexed journals.


Prof. Dr. Željka Krsnik

University of Zagreb, School of Medicine, Croatian Institute for Brain Research, Croatia. Dr. Krsnik got her Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology, from the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Zagreb, Croatia (2005), and M.S. in Molecular Biology, Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Zagreb, Croatia (2001). Dr. Krsnik is currently Assistant Professor of Neuroscience (2013-present), Head of Laboratory for Digitalization of Zagreb Brain Collection and Head of  Laboratory for Neurodevelopmental RNA Analysis for Digitalization of Zagreb Brain Collection and Laboratory for Neurodevelopmental RNA analysis.


Prof. Dr. Andrea Gudan Kurilj

Andrea Gudan Kurilj graduated in 2001 at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine University of Zagreb, and since then she works at the Department of Veterinary Pathology. She reached her PhD degree in 2009 in the field of Veterinary Clinical Sciences. Generally, dr. Gudan Kurilj is involved in routine diagnostic procedures related to the pathology of domestic, wild, exotic and laboratory animals and her field of special interest is veterinary oncology. She collaborated on the projects "Effects of gizzerosine on the synthesis and activity of nitric (II) oxide in rats", "Comparative diagnostics, morphometry and analysis of human and animal tumors", ""The frequency and distribution of animal tumors in Croatia" and currently she works on project „Anisakis spp. genomic epidemiology. She was also involved in an alternate route of residency training in veterinary pathology and spent one year period (2013/2014) at the Institute for Veterinary Pathology University of Zürich. On 2015 she passed ECVP certifying examination and is accepted as ECVP Diplomate.

Željko Grabarević, DVM, PhD

Currently Head of the Department of Veterinary Pathology. He is author of numerous publications, both scientific and popular. His main areas of interest are: veterinary oncology, effect of various exogenous and endogenous biomediators on stomach ulcer and inflammatory bowel disease, and pathology of laboratory animals. He is author of more than 120 original scientific and professional papers, and more than 90 congress papers and communications, with citation index of 860. 


Vladimir Mrljak, DVM, PhD

VetMedZg Project Coordinator, Prof. Vladimir Mrljak gained his PhD in Veterinary Medicine by the faculty of Veterinary Medicine University of Zagreb. He is the former Head of the Clinic for Internal Diseases (2001-2006), and currently main researcher on the research project of the Ministry of Science of the Republic of Croatia. Prof. Mrljak is also member of the international COST project (member of the Management Committee of the COST Action FA 1002: Farm Animal Proteomics). From the earliest days he has shown major interest in research and  professional advance, and has taken active part at numerous veterinary and human medicine meetings, symposia and congresses. His main areas of scientific and professional interest are pathogenesis of babesiosis and other vector-borne diseases, and clinical laboratory diagnostics. Prof. Mrljak is author of more than 60 original research and professional review papers (30 in CC indexed journals) published in eminent international journals and more than 40 congress and symposia papers.


Mangesh Bhide, DVM, PhD

He gained his Masters from Bombay Veterinary College, Bombay, India. In 2004 he obtained his PhD from the University of Veterinary Medicine, Kosice (Slovakia). In the years 2006 to 2007 he was a Post-Doctoral fellow (Marie Curie FP6 fellowship) in  the Laboratory of Special Pathogens, NCM, Carlos III, Madrid (Spain). Since 2008, as a head of the Laboratory, he has substantially contributed in the development and establishment of integrated platform for genomics and proteomics in University of veterinary medicine and pharmacy in Kosice. He is ERA Chair Holder since 2015. Professor Bhide's research activities were supported with research funding of over 1 million Euros from national funds and more than 3.2 million Euros from Structural funds. He has published 55 papers, delivered 99 presentations in conferences. Hirsch ‘’H’’ index 19. He is author and editor in several books.

MA in comparative literature and portuguese language, has experience with administration and implementation of EU funded projects. She is responsible for project reporting, assistance in the purchase of equipment, organization of meetings, workshops, conferences and dissemination activities, and tracking of project costs.
